I've always found the top-down model to be an odd design choice - having to reach a long way to get large items in and out of a hot oven with a hot surface perilously underneath your arms. I've also wondered about getting a side-swing door. I don't need some of the connectivity features, cameras, and the like - I mainly want a great, reliable oven. I've seen owners complain that their ovens need parts that are never in stock and lament their purchase decisions. We eliminated KitchenAid from the running due to #1 this looked like a common issue with various runs from the brand - especially around my vintage. This sound is without convection running. It annoys my wife, and you can hear it throughout the first floor. The self-clean function breaks the oven, and we wind up needing that feature at least once per year.My current oven still works but has two main downsides: I've been shopping for a new double wall oven, looking to replace an eleven-year-old KitchenAid. ![]()
